Back to the grindstone

Seeing students again after a one week break for them. me got no break. i wonder if they studied, though i guess not much bah... Dread seeing them tmr. cas SA2 just ard the corner.

I fell in love with a very cute set of books. A collection of mini stories. its called 60 篇感人小故事。So each book has 60 little stories. I bought 1, think its very nice, so bought 2 more, then today i went and bought 3 more. :) the 3 today is actually a gift from my bf, so sweet of him. he especially likes the 我要成功 book. The 1st book that got me so enchanted is called 穿越爱的迷途. The other books are called 宽容是这般灿烂，矛盾中的幽默，聪明就在这里，在你心里挂星星。Am I the only one who thinks that even the titles are super attractive already? hehe....

hmm..... when i have more time, i shall typed out one of the stories for a sharing... but for those who cant wait, you can find the books at 商务印书馆。The publisher is 万里机构。

Deepavali

Deepavali is coming up and i got roped into dancing for that day!!! :< sigh....

Oh well, accepted fate already and now just trying to learn properly so i dun mess up on friday. So scary >.<...

Fun part is costume buying, will be going with one of the indian teachers today to buy a pujabi suit. And the bangles i bought n a spur of a moment last time will finally be of use. :P

Children's day tmr.

Its children's day tmr. Today was hounded by greedy bloodsuckers. At least the primary one children are properly appreciative. Look at me with excited bright shiny eyes and thank me properly. The primary 3 just come across as greedy materialistic gluttons. Wonder what the upper primary will be like? Worse, i guess.

common language

Centuries and more have been spent on trying find a common language so that people of the world can communicate and understand one another. But even after spending years learning and communicating with the same language, its still possible for people not to understand one another.

Its like how I've seen students read a whole passage fluently but are unable to get a simple question like "what did the main character do?". Even tho they can read every single word in the passage, and they can read the question without problem, they can still have no idea how to answer.

Today, my bf and I were reading up on an article about insurance. And there was this sentence in the passage. "Term insurance is a pay-as-you-go, no frills insurance." And it states that because of that, it is a better bargain than life insurance. Maybe I really am an idiot or something, but for the life of me I just do not understand what kind of insurance term insurance is by that statement.

Please dun try and explain what term insurance is to me, cas my bf already did. But it took quite a few mins and got both of us rather frustrated.

But what gets me is we are both reading English, which we have spent more than a decade on, and he can understand from that one statement and I cant. Sigh... Maybe its really just because I'm stupid or something, and perhaps I shd quit my job and study some more. Anyone noes a gd place to take an "English for dummies course"?

Not much time to write properly but I guess I shd update a bit.

I've graduated, and have began working for 3 mths or so.

I got bored pretty quickly and i cant wait for a break. Its coming tmr :)

I miss the othello guys from my hall, and my classmates and muh, and a bunch of other frens, but as usual, I'm super lazy to initiate contact.

I really miss the feeling of sleeping for 8 hrs a day, without waking up anytime in between.

Hey peepz. Its been quite a while. I have so much things i suppose to blog on and never, but I havent been free. Not free now either. Just to share some news.

My Grandma passed away yesterday. so for the next few days I'll be busier even. Sigh, time to go. Till next time.

Bored

I have officially started work, and therefore, instead of enjoying the June Holidays like other students, I am currently in school. Yes, right now this very moment.

You must wondering, if that is so, y am I so free? Or I suddenly become so brave and dare to slack on the job, even tho I am a newbie.

The truth is, as a newbie, I simply do not have much work yet. My superior is away at meeting, and she was too busy to schedule work for me before she left. Other more experience senpais are simply too busy with their own jobs. There was one work for me to do, due on friday, but I finished it even before lunch. I'm not boasting, it truely is easily done. Its just that the senpais have more urgent work, so the deadline for this is long. Also, the sample will only be out tomorrow.

So now, I'm doing some personal stuff. Hopefully, I get a bit more things to do tmr. Else must wait til thurs when my superior come back, but unfortunately, i also going overseas that night. I wonder how am I going to find time to do it. Please dun email me my work on Friday, I wont have internet access overseas.... *cries*
