Dance Performane
My friend invited me to watch her dance performance. I was kinda upset when I sat down actually, cas the theme was hiphop so that means loud music and bright lights; and my seat is like in the third row from the front, so was wondering if i'll get to see anything but legs.
As it turns out, I got a great view of the stage. Could even clearly see the features of all the cute guys. :p The music and lights were still bearable so it didnt affect me too badly.
I liked the performance. :) Quite a bit, in fact. They included dances with storylines and those were the ones that I enjoyed the most.
duet "Where did my baby go?"
A lovely story about a guy missing his wife while he is overseas away from her. The twist in the story is that the wife has actually died while he was overseas and appeared beside him while he was thinking of her. Was wondering why he didnt notice her around, until they added the news report to reveal that she died in a fire. I especially like the part where the wife suddenly realises that shes a ghost. She tried to touch him but her hand went 'through'. Not for real, of course, but her expression and body language was great, like she was shocked, amazed and fearful all at the same time.
But the star attraction was the male dancer (naturally, since the wife was dancing as a memory or as a ghost), and his skills were fantastic. I mean, have you ever since a guy roll from the floor onto the sofa!?! And his movement was so fluid, as if it doesnt cause him any difficulty at all. I like the dance style used as well, elegant, fluid and graceful moves, making all the difficult moves look like they are done with ease.
Fatal Blunder
My friend was the main heroine in this dance, am like absolutely delighted for her. :) I believe she needs more of such roles since she is going to focus on dancing.
The story is about a love triangle which crossed nations, with two kings or warlords or the like fighting over a woman (acted by my friend). Ending up with the hero who started the war to snatch the woman killing both his rival and his love.
The storyline was clear cut and the dance was beautiful. I like the part where after the woman was snatched away by the rival, they did a split act, with one side acting out the woman being abused and the other showing the king being advised to start a war to get his love. But I wished it were a slight bit slower, as I barely managed to take in the details on both sides.
The finale shows the king commiting suicide and being buried by (what I believed to be) the souls of those who died in war. I found that part more amusing than dramatic or horrifying, really. Think it might be better if they didn't bury the king.

My friend and the Choreo. Same guy for the duet by the way.
In the limelight
About a famous movie star's life. I like the choreography for that as well. They gave the whole thing a very hollywood effect. The bodyguards were the ones who really reinforced the feel. And the main dancer, who's also choreographer, was great. The finale, in which he commited suicide by shooting himself in the head had a very real feel to it. I actually jumped when he "shot" himself. I am very glad I dun often scream when startled. But the timing of the finale act was really superb, the way he fell as well.
Wonder if I should get tickets to this coming weekend's dance but I got no one to go with. *sniffs* anyone interested in watching dance performances?

甲:我说着b-r-b的意思是,"be right back", “我去去就来”。
甲:我是说i-d-k的意思是“I don't know",也就是“我不知道”。
